Mathbox was formed in 1978 to provide software programming and software consulting services. The 1984 incorporation of Mathbox, Inc. added software and hardware development and sales and computer timesharing services. Mathbox has provided software and hardware development services to the machine control industry, defense industry, telecommunications industry, and computer industry.
Shortly after incorporation in 1984, Mathbox began offering bulletin board services, online games, chat conferences, file downloads, local e-mail, and exchanging e-mail with other bulletin board providers.
In late 1993, Mathbox connected the bulletin board system to the internet, hosted the Mathbox web site, offered regional dialup internet access, and began exchanging e-mail globally.
Dialup access grew to include all of North America with over 12,000 access numbers. As technology progressed, Mathbox services included business class DSL, T1, Fiber Optic Service, and Business Class Cable connections and phone services as well as a full offering of hosting services.
